2, 4, 8 Is Already an Evolution

Iris told me that a classmate of hers plays 2048 on a smartwatch.

Curious, I asked her what kind of game it was. She said that matching numbers merge and double, and you win when you reach 2048.

I tried it myself.

It really is a puzzle game. The first time I played, I did not win.

But I noticed something. 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 … doubling all the way to 1024 and 2048. That sequence is already an evolution.

It is a lot like the evolution I wrote for Baby Guardian Battle. The babies there also start as an egg and grow up one stage at a time.

So what if I combined the two? Would it be more fun?

That is how ZenoWorks 2048 began.

The Chain Came from Baby Guardian Battle

The evolution chain in 2048 grew out of the one in Baby Guardian Battle:

2 🥚 Mystery Egg
4 🐣 Hatchling
8 🐥 Fluffy Chick
16 🐦 Lively Bird
32 🦅 Flame Wing
64 🦕 Thunder Scale
128 🐊 Dragon Fang
256 🦖 Tyrant King
512 🐲 Sacred Wyvern
1024 🐉 Eternal Dragon
2048 🌟 Ultimate Dragon

Then it struck me: my Eternal Dragon only reached 1024 in 2048 terms.

The game is called 2048, so I added one more stage above the Eternal Dragon and named it the Ultimate Dragon.

In ZenoWorks 2048, reaching the Eternal Dragon only brings up a hint. It is not a win yet. You need a second Eternal Dragon, and when the two merge into the Ultimate Dragon, that is the real finish.

Three More Stages After 2048

Later, reaching 2048 was no longer very hard for me.

So I added three more stages on top: 4096, 8192 and 16384.

Beyond that, it climbs into the heavens.

Once you make the Ultimate Dragon, the win screen gains a Keep Going button. What lies above, the game does not tell you in advance.
